日経の調査によると、日本人の66%が外国人の増加を「良いことだと思う」「どちらかといえば良い」と回答し、「良くない」という回答は29%となった。
特に若い世代で「良い」と回答する割合は増加しているが、世代別で見ても全世代が外国人の増加は「良い」という回答が上回った。
また、経済状況による差異は少しみられた。所得が高い層は、所得の低い層よりも外国人の増加が良い効果があると考える傾向がある。
回答者のうち72％が労働力としての重要性を指摘し、22％が地域社会で重要な役割を果たしていると回答している。
外国人増加に対し消極的な日本人のうち、57％が治安悪化が懸念、51％がゴミの適正処理などの日常生活のルールに従わないと答え、50％が外国人の行動が不可解であると答えた。
日本人の大多数は、外国人の数を増やすことを望んでいるのではなく、人口の高齢化に伴い、外国人増加は避けられない結果であると考えている。
According to a recent Nikkei survey, about 66% of the Japanese see the increase of foreigner as good while less than 30% see it as bad.
Even if this percentage increase for the younger generations, the augmentation of foreigners is more perceived as good than bad for all generations.
We can also notice a small difference regarding financial situation. People with higher income tend to see the augmentation of foreigner as a good effect more than the population with lower incomes.
Among the respondents perceiving it as good, 72% cited their importance as workers, while 22% said they play important roles in local communities. (More than one answer was possible).
Among the Japanese reluctant to foreigners, 57% mentioned a fears of a deterioration of public safety, 51% said that foreigners do not follow the rules of daily life, such as properly disposing of garbage and 50% said they found the behavior of foreigners puzzling.
However, with an aging population, it seems the majority of the Japanese population see it as an unavoidable consequence than a real desire to see the number of foreigners increase.
