カナダ最大の銀行であるTDが発表したレポートによると、障害者のインクルージョンは500億ドルの経済効果をカナダにもたらすとのこと。
2017年の調査によると、カナダの人口の20％に当たる人が自分には障害があると認識しており、この数字は次の20年で25％にまで増えると予測される。
障害者に対する差別数値を半分にするだけでカナダのGDPは500億ドル(2.1％)増え、およそ440,000人の新しい雇用を障害者に向けて作りだす。
以前のニュースでも伝えたように、カナダは2040年までに障害者に対するアクセシビリティーを100％にするという目標が投票により決定している。
しかし、TDレポートによるとそこまでの道のりは長く、今後高齢化が進んでより多くの人が障害を報告するに従い、国として中長期的に競争力を保ちたいのであれば、カナダの企業は障害者インクルージョンを高めていく必要がある。

A new report by TD, the largest Canadian banking company, shows improving inclusion for people with disabilities can enhance Canada’s GDP by $50 billion.
According to a 2017 survey, 20% of the Canadian population identify as someone with a disability, this number is expected to rise up to 25% in the next 20 years.
Currently, 40% of the people with a disability aged between 25 and 64 are either unemployed or not in the labor force, compared to 25% of the able population.
Narrowing only half of the discrimination rate toward disabled people is expected to boost Canada’s GDP by $50 billion (2.1%) as well as creating around 440.000 new employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
As cited in previous news, Canada voted to become fully accessible for disabled people by 2040.
However, according to TD report, there is still a long way to go and Canadian companies need to improve their disability inclusion if they want to stay competitive in the medium-long term as Canada’s population is aging and people are more likely to report disabilities when getting older.
