2017年に 多様性、包括性、職場の平等を向上させるために開始されたオールインダイバーシティプロジェクトは、ゲーム業界において、D＆Iの認知度を高めるための新しいキャンペーンを開始した。
1月27日に開始された「#opendoors」と呼ばれる新しいキャンペーンは、D＆Iのメリットについてゲーム業界内で意識させることとした。
2月4日～6日にロンドンで開催される3日間のイベント「ICE2020」では、5,000人以上のゲーム業界リーダーが集結。D＆Iへのサポートを表明する人々は、ピンバッジを着用。イベントの前には、D＆Iの認知度を高める為に、ソーシャルメディアにおいてもピンのデジタルバージョンを使用して共有することができる。
「私たちがここまで一人で来たのではないことを認識すると、仮定・バイアスなどのためにそのサポートの恩恵を受けず、すぐに私たちの違いをより意識する人もいることを認識している。」と、オールインダイバーシティプロジェクトの創設者であるKelly Kehn氏は述べる。
また、オールインダイバーシティプロジェクトのChristina Thakor-Rankin 氏は、
「他人を擁護する人々は別として、業界で最も成功している個人や企業の一部にリンクされたビジュアルタグの関連付けによって多様化されていくことを望んでいる。」と述べた。
The All-in Diversity project, a project launched in 2017 to increase Diversity, Inclusion and Workplace Equality in the gaming industry, launched a new campaign to raise D&I awareness.
The new campaign called “#opendoors” starting in January 27 aimed to sensitize the gaming community around the benefits of D&I.
During the ICE2020, a 3 days event in London reuniting over 35 000 professionals across all gaming sectors in February 4-6, people willing to show their support to D&I will be able to wear a pin to promote diversity and inclusion.
Prior the event, people can share their story and use a digital version of the pin on social medias to raise D&I awareness.
“The idea behind #opendoors is simple. If we really want to progress and be a more diverse and inclusive industry, we need to recognize that we did not get to where we are in our career without the help of someone along the way. By thanking someone who helped you, you are also pledging that you are willing to hold the door open for someone else who might need it. When we recognize that we didn’t get here alone, we are also recognizing some people do not benefit from that support because of assumptions, bias, etc and immediately become more conscious of our differences, “said Kelly Kehn, Co-Founder of All-in Diversity Project.
“Aside of the opportunity to celebrate those who champion others, we’re hoping that the association of a visual tag linked to some of the most successful individuals and companies in the industry says it all – diversity works,” said Christina Thakor-Rankin, another Co-Founder.
