9月始め、リオデジャネイロの市長が若者向けではないという理由でLGBTのキャラクターが出てくる作品の出版禁止許可を裁判所から得た。
この決定の発端は、ブックフェアで紹介された漫画アベンジャーズ「子供十字軍」という作品が元になっている。マーベル社から出ている漫画で、作品の中に二人の男性ヒーローらがキスをしているシーンが含まれる。
しかし、この決定は期待された効果が出ておらず、人々は店に駆け込んでアベンジャーズを買い漁った。
ユーチューバーで3,400万人のサブスクライバーがいるフェリペ・ネト（Felipe Neto）は、14,000冊に及ぶLGBT関連の本を購入し、通行人に無料で与えた。
さらに、ソーシャルネットワークでこのことが話題になり、LGBTコンテンツに対し、更に注目が集まった。
このニュースはまた、ブラジルで最も読まれている新聞Fohla de S. Pauloの一面も飾ることになった。
最終的に、最高裁がLGBTコンテンツに対する全ての制裁を禁止し、2019年6月からブラジルでは同性愛嫌悪が禁止になっている。
At the beginning of September, the mayor of Rio de Janeiro obtained the authorization from the court to ban publications of LGBT characters on the pretext that are not made for young public.
This decision came because of the comic book “Avengers: The Children’s Crusade“, presented at a book fair, showing two male super heroes of the Marvel universe kissing.
However, the decision did not have the desired effect. The public rushed to the stands to quickly buy the comic book.
Felipe Neto, a YouTuber with 34 million subscribers bought 14,000 LGBT related books for free distribution to passers-by.
In addition, social networks quickly seized the subject, giving even more publicity to LGBT content.
This event made the first page of Brazil’s most widely read newspaper “Fohla de S. Paulo”.
In final, less than 24 hours later the Supreme Court of Brazil banned all sanctions against LGBT content, given that homophobia has been banned since June 2019 in Brazil.
