フランス、男女平等担当副大臣であるマルレーヌ・シアッパ（Marlene Schiappa）は、平等を尊重しない政党に対し、罰金の額を5倍にする意向だと述べた。
2000年に採択されたこの法律では、政党は選挙前後で政治家の男女比率の差を+/- 2%に抑えなければならないとしている。
この法律を遵守しなかった場合、男女どちらかが足りていない割合に応じて罰金を支払う必要がある。
2014年にこの罰金は増額されたものの、あまりに多くの政党が男女の割合を揃えることより、罰金を支払う方を選んでいる。
2012年から2017年の間、二つの主要政党である社会党と共和党がそれぞれ平等性に欠けるという理由で600万と1,800万の罰金を支払うよう命じられた。この金額は、個人献金全額のうち、社会党はその５％弱、共和党は16％強という割合を占めている。
罰金5倍は政党予算にとって影響が大きいため、これが採択されれば法の順守を促すと思われる。
The French State Secretary of gender equity, Marlene Schiappa, wants to increase the penalties fees applied to political parties not respecting the parity by 5 times.
Adopted in 2000, French political parties have to respect a gender equity (+/- 2%) in their party list before and after the elections.
In case of non-compliance with the law, they have to pay a fee related to the percentage of women (or men) missing.
Despite an increase of this fee in 2014, too many parties still prefer to pay the fee rather than having a gender equity list.
During the 2012-2017 period the two main political parties, Socialist and Republicans respectively got fined 6 million and 18 million for their lack of parity. This represents in terms of total amount of the public endowment a little bit less than 5% for the Socialist party and a bit more than 16% for the Republicans.
Quintuple the penalties will represent a real impact on the budget of the political parties and thus encourage them to better respect the law.
