生理のある女性やトランスジェンダーの男性2,000人に対して行われた新しい世論調査によると、生理中、女性はきちんと生理のことを取り合ってもらえなかったり、不快な言葉を投げ付けられたりするとのこと。
人材育成公認協会（CIPD）のトレーニングスペシャリストによって行われた調査によれば、およそ半数の女性が差別に直面しているとのことだ。30％は同僚が真剣に取り合ってくれなかったと告白、さらに10％を超える人が生理中に「子供を産めばよくなるわよ」「言い訳でしょ」「生理中だからね」「怠けてるだけでしょ」などと、生理に関する否定的なコメントをもらったそうだ。
職場において生理の話をすることは、いまだにタブー視されており、60％の女性が職場で生理の話を持ち出すことが憚られると答え、60％のうち57％までが生理痛を理由に休みを申請するときは上司に嘘をつかねばならないと答えている。男性優位な職場では、82％の女性が生理の話をせず、女性優位な職場ではその数は52％にとどまる。調査によると、25％の女性は職場には生理用汚物入れすらなく、30％が定期的にトイレに行くことすらないとのことだ。
According to a new poll carried out on 2,000 women or transgender men still menstruating, women are not taken seriously and often face unpleasant comments during their period.
The poll carried out by Chartered Institute of Personnel Development training specialist reveals that about half of the women faced discrimination. Around 30% said their co-workers did not take the pain caused by the period seriously. In addition, a bit more than 10% received negative comments related to their period during work, such as “It would get better if you had kids”, “It is just an excuse to act like a bitch”, “It is because she is on the rag” or “You are just lazy”.
Talking about period in the workplace is still a taboo, 60% of the women feel uncomfortable to talk about it in the workplace, resulting in 57% of the respondents saying they had to lie to their manager about the reason for taking a day off due to period pain.
In male-dominant environments, 82% of the women don’t talk about their period, compared to 52% in female-dominant environments.
The poll also reveals that 25% of the female did not have access to a disposal bin in their workplace and about 30% did not have a constant access to the toilets.
