職場におけるLGBTの立場を向上させる目的で2017年に作られた団体「Pride Circle」は、バンガロールで初めてLGBTジョブフェアを開催した。
インドでは、同性愛は昨年9月に非犯罪化された。
このイベントには250の仕事に対し、450人の人たちが集まった。参加企業は35社で、その中にはゴールドマンサックス(Goldman Sachs)、フォード(Ford)ウーバー(Uber)、アクセンチュア(Accenture)、インテル(Intel)などの有名企業も名を連ねている。
「我々は、包括的で多様性が反映された職場を作りたいと思っている。インドで初めてのLGBTIキャリアフェアは、全ての人にとって居心地のよい環境を作り出そうとする強い責任感を伴った活動だ。そのような環境でこそ、いろいろな境遇の人間がいきいきと仕事ができるだろう」と、ウーバーのアジアパシフィック地域HRディレクターは述べた。
Pride Circleは類似イベントを他の都市でも開く意向で(ムンバイ、ニューデリー、コルカタ)、次の2年間で少なくとも2,000以上の雇用を提供したいと考えている。

Homosexuality was decriminalized last September in India.
The event attracted over 450 candidates for 250 jobs to be filled in 35 companies including big names such as Goldman Sachs, Ford, Uber, Accenture and Intel.
“We want to create a workplace that is inclusive and reflects the diversity of communities we serve”, “India’s first LGBTI career fair is a strong fit with our commitment to create an environment that works for everyone and where people of every background can thrive,” said Uber’s regional HR director for Asia Pacific.
Pride Circle expects to hold similar events in other cities (Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata) hoping to provide at least 2,000 jobs over the next two years.
