フランスの人材会社カパ（Qapa）の新しい調査によると、従業員の63％が仕事を「退屈」だと感じている。
女性は男性よりも「退屈」を感じている傾向があり、59％男性に対して女性は65％。女性は男性よりも生活環境が悪い状況でもある（39％に対して51％）。しかし、男性の59％と比較して女性の65％がエキサイティングな仕事をしているふりをしている 。
オレリー・ジャンテ（Aurélie Jeantet）氏（労働社会学者であり、ソルボンヌ大学の講師）とフランソワ・バウマン（François Baumann）氏（一般開業医、職場の問題に関する本の著者）がその理由を以下のように説明している。
ジャンテ氏によると、女性は退屈なルーティンワークに業務が限られている傾向がある。これに加え、女性は性質上男性よりも忍耐強く、男性よりも出世する必要性が少ないという考えがある。
バウマン氏は、女性に与えられた業務はそれほど意味がないものであることが多く、その結果興味が失われていると指摘する。また、女性はプライベートの領域（家庭や旦那、世話を必要とする子どもたちなど）にフォーカスしているので、それも要因の一つとして考えられる。よって、男性より責任を与える必要がないと考えられてしまう。
A new study by Qapa, a French agency, reveals that 63% of the employees find their job boring.
Women tend to be more bored than men, 65% compared to 59%. A situation that they live worse than men (51% against 39%). However, 65% of them pretend to have an exciting job compared to 59% for the men.
Aurélie Jeantet (labor sociologist and lecturer at the Sorbonne University) and François Baumann (general practitioner and author of books on problems at work) explain the reasons.
According to Aurélie Jeantet, women tend to have more boring jobs and are limited to repetitive tasks.
Added to this is the idea that women are, by their nature, more patient than men and that they have less need to flourish than men.
For Francois Baumann, activities given to women are less meaningful, resulting in loss of interest. It may also be thought that, as they have other interests in their private sphere, the house, the husband, the children to look after, and so on. It is not necessary to give them more responsibility than men.
