イギリスの擁護慈善団体Stonewallsは、LGBT に対して包括的な取り組みを行うトップ100企業2019のインデックス(指標)を発表した。
今年は445社に及ぶ企業の記録(データ)がインデックスの一部になっている。
その中でIT企業からは2社だけがランクインした。
そのうちの一つである富士通は、2018のインデックスでは唯一のハイテク企業だったが、昨年(2018)の100位から今年(2019)は34位にまでランクアップした。
ランクインしたもう一つの企業であるThough Worksは今年初めてトップ100に選ばれた。
2018年の調査によると、LGBT の5人に1人はイギリスにおいて昨年、否定的なコメントや論争などにより傷ついたことがあると答えている。また、LGBT 労働者の3分の1以上が、職場では差別を恐れて自分の性的指向を隠しているそうだ。
ハイテク産業は、男女共同参画にしろ、LGBT の包括にしろ、まだまだその多様性を高められていない。
The UK advocacy charity Stonewall’s released its new LGBT inclusive top 100 employers 2019 index.
This year a record of 445 employers submitted entries to be part of the 2019 index.
But only two tech companies made it to the top 100.
Fujitsu, the only tech company in the 2018 index, went from number 100 in 2018 to number 34 in 2019.
And ThoughWorks making a new entry in the top 100 for tech companies.
According to a 2018 survey, one in five LGBT is still the victim of negative comments or conducts in the last year in the UK. In addition, more than a third of LGBT employees hide their status in the workplace due to fear of discrimination.
The tech industry still struggles to increase its diversity, whether in terms of gender equality or LGBT inclusion.
