ケニア駐在のイギリス高等弁務官ニック・ヘイリー(Nic Hailey)の管轄のもと、新たに二つのプログラムがイギリス資本で始まった。このプログラムは障害者の雇用促進を目的としている。
一つ目のプログラムは「“Innovation to Inclusion (i2i)」で、障害者が民間企業で積極的に関与したり雇用を維持されることを可能にするという目的がある。このプログラムは障害者に有益な活動から学んだことを、開発、テスト、有効化、共有といったプロセスを経て雇用アクセスの改善を図る。
二つ目のプログラムは「The Inclusion Works!」で、全ての雇用セクターで障害者インクルージョンを取り入れる。これは障害者にとって平等な基盤を作ることが目的であり、有望な雇用主と協働しながら模索する。
「これらの新しいプログラムは障害者雇用を支援し、雇用主がビジネスにおいて新しい可能性に触れることにも役立つ」「障害者インクルージョンは経済を筋が通ったものにする。これらのプログラムは経済発展と民間企業の活動に多くの利益をもたらし、誰のことも置き去りにしない」と、ニック・ヘイリーは述べる。
Under the authority of the British High Commissioner in Kenya (Nic Hailey) two new UK funded programs aim to support people with disabilities to access employment have been launched.
The first program named “Innovation to Inclusion (i2i)” aim to ensure that people with disabilities are actively engaged and retained in the private sector. The program will improve access to employment by developing, testing, validating and sharing learning from actions in favor of disability.
The second one named “The Inclusion Works!” will ensure disability inclusion in all employment sectors by working with prospective employers in order to create an equal basis for people with disabilities.
“These new programs will support more people with disabilities into employment, and will help more employers access a new pool of talent for their business.” “Disability inclusion makes economic sense; these programs will help ensure that the gains from economic development and private sector activity benefit many, and do not leave anyone behind,” said Nic Hailey.
