女性役員が存在しなかったS&P企業の最後の一つが、ジェンダーダイバーシティーを役員会に含めると述べた。
S&P 500はアメリカ株式市場の代表的な株価指数（インデックス）で、総売り上げの多さから選ばれるFortune 500とは異なる。
しかし、男性だけで構成される役員会がなくなるとはいえ、女性メンバーは役員4人のうち1人だけだ。さらに、より大きなインデックスであるRussell 3000（アメリカの株式市場を包括的にカバーする代表的な株価指数）においては数百にも及ぶ企業が女性役員を入れておらず、男女のバランスが取れているのは37企業に過ぎない。
ピーターソン国際経済研究所によると、少なくとも30％以上の女性役員が存在する企業は他の企業に比べて15％パフォーマンスがよい。

The S&P 500 is an American index based on the stock market capitalization of 500 large companies, unlike Fortune 500 based on total revenue.
However, despite the end of the “All men boards”, only 1 out of 4 seats is occupied by women.
Furthermore, on a larger index, the Russell 3000 (representing the largest 3,000 publicly traded businesses in the U.S), hundreds of companies lack a female presence on their boards and only 37 have reached the parity.
According to Peterson Institute for International Economics, companies with at least 30% of executive women perform 15% better than other companies do.
