公共交通機関のバリアフリー化を高めるための抗議が、フランスで行われた。
「メトロが利用できなければ、職場に通勤することができません。」
現在、パリの地下鉄は、わずか3％の駅しか車椅子ユーザーが利用できない。（303駅のうち9つの駅のみ、その9駅すべてが自動運転化された14号線の駅）
他の国では、例えばロンドンには車椅子で利用が可能な駅は全体の18％（50/270駅）、バルセロナ82％（129/156駅）、東京88％（186/211駅）、そしてロサンゼルス（91駅）とワシントンD.C.(93駅）では100％がバリアフリーとなっている。
APF（フランスの麻痺患者協会）の会長は、2024年に行われるパリ五輪に向けて、構造を見直し、誰にとっても利用しやすい公共交通機関を目指してほしいと訴えた。
これに対し、RATP（パリ交通公団）はIle de France Mobilités（イル=ド=フランス・ モビリティ）と取り決めた公約を遵守していることを強調。 Marie-Christine Raoult（RATPアクセシビリティ・ミッション・マネージャー）は、「パリでは、完全バリアフリー対応のバス網が、障害者の”代替交通手段”の役割を果たしていると述べた。
2015年には法律によって「2018年9月26日までに、スモールビジネス、医療行為、および公的施設はすべての人にアクセスを提供すること」と定められていた。しかし期限が過ぎてもこれらの場所の多くは依然としてバリアフリーではなく、罰則もない。APFは、強制力と実質的な措置を求めている。
Protest occurred in France in order to increase the public transportation accessibility. Stating they can’t have access to work if they can’t have access to the Metro. Currently the Paris Metro system is only 3% accessible for people in Wheelchair (9 stations out of 303, all on the automated line 14). In comparaison, London have 18% of its system accessible (50 out of 270), Barcelona 82% (129 out of 156), Tokyo 88% (186 out of 211), Los Angeles and Washington DC top at 100% with respectively 91 and 93 stations).
The president of the APF (an association for French Paralyzed people) want to use the Paris Olympic 2024 opportunity to renove the system and make it more accessible for everyone. In response the RATP (The Metro company) underlined that it complies with the commitments made by Ile-de-France Mobilité. In Paris, the bus network, 100% accessible, is considered as the main transport of “substitution” for disabled people, said Marie-Christine Raoult, RATP accessibility mission manager.
In 2015, a law required small businesses, medical practices and establishments receiving public to provide access to all people to their establishment before september 26th 2018. The deadline just passed and many of these places are still far from accessible and sanctions are not applied. The APF calls for more control and real sanctions.
