ジャーナリストの伊藤詩織さんが、元TBS記者の山口敬之氏から2015年に性暴力を受けたとして、損害賠償を求めた。
伊藤さんによると、当時山口氏は、彼女が働いている米国でのポストを彼女に約束した。レストランで一緒に食事をし、就職先について話している際に、山口氏から薬を飲まされ、その後、ホテルで性的暴行を受けたと主張。
東京地裁は、山口氏に330万円の支払いを命じた。
伊藤さんは、性的暴行問題を訴える著書「ブラックボックス」を出版するなどし、日本において活動を広げている。
性的暴行は依然として日本では非常に難しいテーマである。
刑事手続きでは、山口氏は不起訴となり、伊藤さんは、社会的圧力を受けるなどし、しばらく難しい立場にあったこともあった。しかし、民事裁判では勝訴の判決が下された。
「私たちは勝訴したが、判決の詳細は分からない。しかし、このプロセスこそが重要である。」と裁判の後、伊藤さんは述べた。
