手芸やビンテージ製品等に特化した商品を扱う電子商取引サイトであるEtsyは、年次ダイバーシティ&インクルージョンレポートをリリースした。
レポートによると、Etsyは昨年、黒人およびラテン系の従業員数を２倍に増やし、全従業員1,209人のうち黒人およびラテン系の割合は、8.5％から11％となった。
同社はまた、取締役会、従業員、および経営陣に男女平等を有する数少ないテック企業の1つであると報告している。
ただし、会社のコミットメントはまだ完了しているわけではない。
2020年のエンゲージメントは、技術職や指導的地位のある女性と少数派の数を引き続き増やしたいと考えている。
また、 兵役経験者・高齢者・障害者の人たちへの就労の機会を増やすためのプログラムも実施する予定である。
さらに、 Etsy は昨年、新品および中古楽器を扱うマーケットプレイスを運営する Reverbを買収。新しい支社のために、ダイバーシティ&インクルージョンプログラムを拡張している。
Etsyは2023年までに黒人およびラテン系の従業員の数を更に2倍増やし、世界の従業員数の18％になることを約束している。

Etsy, an e-commerce company specialized in handcraft and vintage products, released its annual D&I report.
The report reveals the company doubled the number of new Black and Latino employees last year, bringing the total at 11% of their 1 209 employees, compared to 8.5% in the previous report.
The company also reported been one of the few Tech Company to have a gender parity on board, workforce and executive teams.
However, the company commitments are not done yet.
For its 2020 engagements, the company wants to continue to increase the number of women and minorities in leadership positions as well as in Tech related positions.
The company also intends to implement programs to increase opportunities for veterans, older people and people with disabilities.
Additionally, the company acquired last year “Reverb”, a musical instrument marketplace, and plan to extend their D&I programs to this new branch.
Finally, Etsy is committed to double up its number of Black and Latino employees by 2023 to end up at 18% of their global workforce.
“We’re proud of our progress, but we know there’s room to continue to expand on that. Our progress on diversity hasn’t happened overnight. This really has been the result of longstanding efforts. Diversity in the tech sector is a major area of concern.” said Elizabeth Spector Louden, Etsy’s head of diversity and inclusion.
